Called Out MMA Announces Card for Called Out Fights II

Ontario, Calif., September 27, 2009—On November 14th Called Out MMA sets out to prove that it is not a promotion that likes to rest on past accomplishments. With a new production schedule and another stacked fight card, the promotion’s November 14th event promises to be the best Called Out MMA event to date.

The night’s card features eleven bouts. Highlighting the card is a middleweight matchup between UFC “The Ultimate Fighter” coach Hector “Sick Dog” Ramirez (8-3-1) and Bret Bergmark (5-1-1).

November 14th will mark Team Rampage assistant coach Hector “Sick Dog” Ramirez’s returns to the cage after a year long layoff. In his first bout after season 10 of “The Ultimate Fighter” Ramirez faces three time WEC veteran Bret Bergmark (5-1-1).

In the co-main event Bao Quach (17-9-1) squares off against Georgi Karakhanyan (12-1). Quach, a highly sought after mixed martial arts veteran, has had the opportunity to exhibit his talent with several top MMA promotions including EliteXC, Affliction and Strike Force. For Karakhanyan, who carries only one blemish on an otherwise stellar record, Quach will undoubtedly be his toughest challenge thus far.

Braga has made it clear that he is hungrier now than ever, and is ready to prove that he is still a force to be reckoned with. However, Braga faces no easy task as his opponent at Called Out Fights II is UFC veteran Alberto Crane (12-4).

Called Out MMA Delivers with Called Out Fights

Ontario, Calif., August 16, 2009—In only it’s second profession mixed martial arts event, Called Out MMA proved yet again why the upstart promotion is a force to be reckoned with in mixed martial arts. Called Out’s August 15th event faced some stiff competition for the attention of the MMA viewing public, with the much hyped Carano v. Cyborg event taking place on the same night, but the promotion’s stacked card packed the crowd in at Ontario’s Citizens Business Bank Arena.

The Called Out Card featured top tier veteran talent. In the main event bout Thomas “Wildman” Denny (27-18) squared off against current Rage in the Cage champion Joe Cronin (10-11). Cronin looked to be in control of the bout early on, having taken Denny down twice and holding him in a guillotine choke as the first round came to an end. However, midway through the second round the Wildman managed to catch Cronin in a guillotine choke of his own to earn the victory.

In the co-main event Gabe “Godzilla” Ruediger (15-5) took on Wander Braga (10-1). Ruediger entered the night looking to extend his three fight winning streak. The fight started slowly, with the both men showing great respect for each other’s abilities. In the second round Ruediger caught Braga with a glancing right that sent Braga to the canvas. Ruediger quickly capitalized on the opportunity, submitting Braga with a guillotine choke.

Five-time kickboxing champion Kathy Long (1-0) dominated Avery Vilche (1-2-1) in her debut mixed martial arts fight to earn a unanimous decision. Vilche, who appeared to have the superior ground technique, could not find an answer for Long’s physical strength. Long sent Vilche to the canvas early in the first round and remained in control for the rest of the bout.

Other notable results from the night include heavyweight Daniel Puder (8-0) winning a decision over Mychal Clark (6-9) to remain undefeated. Virgil Zwicker (6-1) winning a unanimous decision over Will Ritchie (4-1) in an epic standup battle. Also, Jay Silva (5-0) continuing his streak of knockout victories to four by finishing off Ray Lizama (7-6) in stunning fashion late in the third round.
